Section outline

  • Why:

H5P Course Presentation (see examples) turns a presentation into an interactive learning experience. Slides can incorporate a variety of interactive multimedia such as interactive summaries, multiple-choice questions and video clips. In an H5P Course Presentation, students can engage in more active learning and put their knowledge and memory to the test.

    How:
      1. Add a new activity or resource to the page where you want the Presentation.
      2. Choose H5P as the activity to add.
      3. Select Course Presentation from the editor list.
      4. Use the editing tools to add content to your slides and the activity tools to add interactive content.
      5. Use the slide tools to add new slides and arrange your activities.
      6. Once completed, scroll to the bottom of the page and select save and return to course.

      Variation (advanced):

      • Add H5P from the content bank. This will embed your H5P activity on the page so it displays without students having to click and open it.

    1. Create an H5P Summary activity

      Why:

This content type enables creators to develop tasks in which the user must choose between statements and construct the relevant summary.

      How:
        1. Add a new activity or resource to the page where you want the Summary.
        2. Choose H5P as the activity to add.
        3. Select Summary from the editor list.
        4. Add statements. By default, the first statement group consists of two blank text fields each labelled Statement. You need one correct statement (first) and at least one incorrect statement in each statement group for the Summary to make any sense.
        5. Click add statement group to add more sections to the summary.
        6. Once completed, scroll to the bottom of the page and select save and return to course.

        Variation (advanced):

        • Add H5P from the content bank. This will embed your H5P activity on the page so it displays without students having to click and open it.
