An interesting take on gaming and education and definitely something I have observed in the gaming environment.
"For instance, while traditional instruction spends so much time and energy trying teach observable outcomes, it seems that the real strength of games are their ability to teach a tacit or intuitive understanding of the subject at hand. So while at the end of the game, students may not be able to perfectly report what they know, they will be able to “do” what they know."
