I have been taking "dinosaur steps" at transferring photos from Ipad to ITunes to Iphoto to burn cds/DVDs.
Any advice on a slicker way to accomplish sharing?

At least you can drop the Itunes bit.
I suggest you put the photos in the cloud and then drop them straight onto a DVD using your desktop.
I like DropBox. It gives you 2GB free (in the cloud) and it instals just like another folder on your desktop so you just drag and drop onto the DVD. When you have filled up 2GB you can delete it and start afresh with another 2GB.
The only thing I'm not sure about is how to quickly get all the photos you want from Ipad into dropbox. You don't really want to do one at a time.

The easiest option is to use the built in iCloud sync feature. Your appleID gives you 5GB of iCloud storage. In settings turn it on and make sure photo stream is on. This auto synchs any photos in your photo roll from last 30 days. Install the iCloud app on your mac or pc and it's all automatically sync'd to every device every time you take a photo or get wireless access.
