Turnitin AI Detection can identify:
- Text generated by AI tools
- AI-generated text that has been paraphrased, rewritten, translated, or “humanised” using AI
- Content produced through AI writing platforms
Unless explicitly authorised by your tutor, the submission of AI-generated or AI-modified content in assessments is not permitted. For guidance, please refer to the NMIT Generative AI Guidelines for Ākonga. If you are unsure whether use of an AI tool is permitted, consult your tutor.
Please note: Most versions of Grammarly (aside from Academic versions provided by NMIT) produce AI-generated text by default, unless Generative AI has been deactivated. To deactivate Generative AI in Grammarly follow the instructions here. For technical help please contact the Learning & Academic Team.
