Using the Text Editor

The text editor works like any simple word processing programme. You can type to add text or copy and paste. The menu (see image below) allows you to do a number of things.

The buttons are:

Button Name and Description
Show more Buttons / Show Less Buttons
Click to show the second line of formatting options
Undo
Redo
Only available after an action has been done
Paragraph Styles
The Paragraph styles are for headings, large, medium and small, plus to set your text to pre formatted (good for code, see the activity block for examples) and to reset your paragraph to the normal paragraph settings (note this can also be done with the clear formatting option).
Bold Text
Italic Text
Unordered List
Ordered List
Add Hyperlink - link to URL
Links can be used to incorporate web-based resources such as blog articles into a Moodle course.
Unlink
Removes links in the text area 
Prevent Auto link
Stops the auto linking function (the dotted underlines) in the text area.
Add image
Adding and editing images in the page.
Add media
Used for adding videos or sound files when not on youtube.
Record audio
Add a audio file that you record at the time of clicking, max 2 min.
Record video
Add a video that you record at the time of clicking, max 2 min.

Align centre
Align right
Underline
Strikethrough
Subscript
Superscript
Font Colour
To remove the background colour use
