How to build a collaborative word cloud

You will need an account with Vevox to host a poll. Visit the sign up page if you do not yet have one and use your email to create an account. 

1. Create a session 

Once you are in the Vevox dashboard, you can click . 

2. Create a poll 

Click  to make a new poll 

3. Select question type

Change the question type to word cloud: 

Give your word cloud a title and click at the bottom of the page. 

4. Start the session 

Click open poll  to start your session. Note: you can only have one session running at a time with the free version.

5. Invite participants 

In the top of your window now you will see a session ID with the name of your cloud. Click the down arrow for more information and you will see something like this: 

Select the 'Copy participant app link' and paste this into moodle. Students will be able to submit their responses by clicking this link. 

6. Present responses

You can now watch as responses come in. You will need to set your poll to 'show results' (under the question): 

You can present this window fullscreen, and if you click the button, you can open just this window to share with your students so they can see results.
