Kia ora koutou

Next week is the beginning of Matariki (The Māori New Year).  For Nelson based students there will be a FREE Matariki Fish burgers for lunch, so come along for a kai.

1)      This is a first for our Café Akeake here in N-Block NMIT Nelson campus.  Aroha mai this won’t be mutton-bird & puha but will be cooked to perfection by Māori café staff member Donna Jobe pork-bones and watercress so if your in the mood for a Māori lunch drop into our café and celebrate our Matariki kai.

2)      A manu flew in and told me something cool happening in Motueka for Matariki as well as a week of Mid Winter Xmas celebrations and a dedication to Matariki (Māori New Year).

Matariki Celebration:  6:00 - 7:00pm, Decks Reserve, behind the Motueka I-site, Wallace St. Performers and laser light show. Gold coin donation & $10.00 hangi.
