    Welcome to the second part of this module.

    In the first part we looked at formatting, and now we move to how to include references in your report. It is recommended that you work through the first part before doing this second part.

      You are probably aware of the importance of referencing your sources of information, but how can you do this efficiently?  Word has a straightforward referencing system to aid in this.

      For this activity you will be working through pages 18 - 22 of the Using Word 2016 Instructions.


      Task: APA Referencing

      Work through the resources on this website, then have a go at the challenges on pages 20 and 22 of the Using Word 2016 Instructions.

      Where Was That Figure Again...?

      Allow 30 minutes

      A table of figures enhances the usability of your report by making it easier for readers to find the figures in the report.  Including cross-references to the figures within the text makes it easier for the reader to connect those figures with the text.

      For this activity you will be working through pages 23 - 27 of the Using Word 2016 Instructions.


      Task 1: Adding a Caption to a Figure

      We will be looking at cross-referencing figures in the next task, but before we do that we need to be able to add a caption to a figure. Work through the resources on this website, then have a go at the challenge on pages 23 of the Using Word 2016 Instructions.
