    Surveys

    Google Forms and Microsoft Forms are both online survey tools.

    It is very useful at times to be able to send out surveys or questionnaires. The applications explored in this module both allow you send electronic forms to people and collect the responses via the internet. 

    For this module you only need to do one of either Activity 1 (Google Forms) or Activity 2 (Microsoft Forms) depending on whether you prefer to use the Google or Microsoft option. The badge is based on being able to complete the skills in either of these options.

    Activity 3 (Excel Survey) is included as optional extra. It is not included in the self-assessment.

      Google Forms

      Allow 60 minutes

      Google Forms is an application that is available as part of your Google account. This activity guides you through the basics of setting up and sending a survey, and then collecting the data.


      Task 1: Overview

      Work through the resources below and then have a go at the challenge.

      • Log in to (or create) your Google Account
      • Locate Google Forms

      Task 2: Create a Survey

      Work through the resources below and then have a go at the challenge.

      • Create a survey with at least 5 questions
      • Choose a response destination

      Task 3: Share a Survey

      Work through the resources on this website, then have a go at the challenge.

      • You could also send the form to yourself to complete

      Microsoft Forms

      Allow 60 minutes

      Microsoft Forms is an application that is available as part of an Office 365 account. This activity guides you through the basics of setting up and sending a survey, and then collecting the data.


      Task 1: Overview

      • Log in to your Office 365 Account
      • Locate and open the Forms app

      • Choose form settings based on your preferences

      Excel Survey

      Allow 30 minutes

      Another option for creating surveys in Microsoft Office 365 is to use Excel Survey. It works in a similar way to the other applications in this module, but it returns the results directly to an online Excel spreadsheet. This can be very handy if this is where you want your data to end up.
