• The Toolkit

  The purpose of this toolkit is to help NMIT staff understand and use the principles and considerations brought forward in the Learning Design Framework.

  This toolkit is part of an overall strategy to increase quality of learning design at NMIT, which also includes Professional Development day workshops as well as access to FLiT members for targeted training and support.

  Eventually this toolkit will expand to include four main areas: Learning Design, EdTech Tools, Blended Learning Facilitation and Digital Literacy.

• Setting the Scene This tab contains information about the two key documents that are driving learning design at NMIT: The Learning and Teaching Policy and the Learning Design Framework.

• Self-Assessment Quizzes This tab contains four self-assessment quizzes to help you measure your understanding of Learning Design, EdTech Tools, Blended Learning Facilitation and Digital Literacy with the purpose of identifying areas for professional development.

• Learning Design This tab contains information around processes and considerations for design learning. It also details how to access and use helpful templates to guide the process.

• Blended Learning This tab contains information and activities to help you understand what blended learning is and how to implement it in your teaching.

• Dig Deeper This tab contains further details and research about learning design, especially blended learning.

• Staff PD Days This tab contains information relating to the Professional Development days dedicated to exploring aspects of the Learning Design Framework.
