NMIT Online Course Management 2012

2011 courses: As we did in 2011, we are retaining and archiving last year's NMIT Online courses and creating fresh "course shells" for 2012. All 2011 courses can still be seen by tutors but they have been switched to a read-only status. Students will not be able to see 2011 courses except by special request.

2012 courses: The majority of 2012 course shells have been created, and in most cases, we have imported 2011 content into them - due dates and other changes will need to be made by tutors. Enrolled students will be automatically registered to courses from 7 February, but will not be able to access any course until the tutor adjusts the course settings to make it available.

Tutors: If you cannot see your 2012 courses, or you have special requirements or queries, please contact FLiT on extension 778 or email nmitonline@nmit.ac.nz.

NMIT Online changes - colours and login

NMIT Online will be undergoing changes starting Monday 23 Jan.

The banner at the top of the page will change to a white background.
The login screens will be changing for students and you will no longer need to enter your full Live@NMIT ID

These changes are being made in anticipation of a single sign on process to be implemented across all NMIT's online services later in Term 1 (i.e. login once, go anywhere).

New 2011 Graduation Date Confirmed for February 2012

I’m delighted to be able to inform you that we have secured a new date for our 2011 Graduation ceremony. This will now be held on Friday 24 February 2012 at 10.30am in the Trafalgar Centre. Graduands will be contacted directly by NMIT with more details about the event.

I do hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend the ceremony.

Can I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and the most healthy of new years.

NMIT Nelson Campus Graduation Ceremony Cancelled

Dear Students, family and guests,

It is with enormous regret that I have taken the decision to cancel today’s Graduation Ceremony in Nelson. I know this decision is going to come as a huge disappointment to staff and particularly students from across NMIT but I feel the events of the last 36 hours and their effect on the region makes holding the ceremony untenable. In particular I have huge concerns around the safety and wellbeing of people making their way to and from the event as well as the impact on already stretched emergency services and the infrastructure of Nelson City. Simply put, I do not believe that NMIT would be acting responsibly to carry on with our Graduation Ceremony.

We will be working tonight to ensure we have communication with as many students and staff as possible before tomorrow.

Details for Returning Regalia

We request that academic regalia is returned to NMIT in K104 by 4pm on Monday, but preferably today; bonds will be refunded at the time regalia is returned.

Regalia fees and additional graduation ceremony tickets will be refunded directly to bank accounts.
